On January 30, 2023, Professor Yu Zhong, Vice Dean of our institute, was invited by the Xinjiang Office of Promoting the Rule of Law to deliver the 12th lecture of the Xinjiang “Rule of Law Classroom - Must Lecture on Every Ninth Day” to cadres at all levels across Xinjiang. The theme of the lecture was “Thoroughly Understanding Xi Jinping’s Thought on Rule of Law to Establish a Solid Theoretical Foundation for Rule of Law in Xinjiang.”

During the lecture, Professor Yu Zhong integrated the practical situation of Xinjiang, emphasizing that comprehensive rule of law in Xinjiang is a vivid practice of comprehensive rule of law in the region. He highlighted the need for scientific guidance from legal thought and underscored that Xi Jinping’s Thought on Rule of Law comprehensively guides the legal principles and methodologies for governing Xinjiang according to law. He emphasized that a thorough understanding of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Rule of Law is crucial for advancing the rule of law in Xinjiang. Professor Yu Zhong also explained the core principles and practical points of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Rule of Law. Following the lecture, Professor Yu Zhong engaged in remote interactive discussions with several institutions including the Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission.

The lecture was chaired by Zhang Xiucheng, Deputy Director of the Office of Comprehensive Rule of Law in Xinjiang and Secretary of the Judicial Department Committee.
